Chief Warrant Officer 5 Kevin Purtee talks to a military reporter about being one of the eight National Guard members invited to the White
House dinner in support of A Nation's Gratitude activities.
A Nation's Gratitude is a formal dinner that serves as an expression of
the nation's appreciation for the achievements and enormous sacrifices of
Americans who
served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. The dinner
invitees include service members from a diverse group of ranks, services,
states, territories and backgrounds, who are representative of those who
served in Iraq. Additional invitees are the Service Chiefs of Staff and the
Secretaries of Defense, Combatant Commanders and Multi-National Force-Iraq
Commanders whose tenures included OIF and OND. Nation's Gratitude
