Cpl. Horace Roach Jr., a National Guardsman from Long Branch, N.J. is a unit supply specialist serving with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division's Special Troops Battalion at Camp Arifjan Kuwait. He’s carved out a place of his own over the last nine months in what troops call “Roach’s Thrift Shop”, where he sorts and organizes a mountain of used uniforms and accessories collected from drop boxes on base, where Soldiers can pick up serviceable items free of charge, and save the government mountains of cash in the process.
