The USS Bataan Multi-purpose Amphibious Assault Ship returns to Norfolk, Va. from a 10 1/2 month deployment. Footage includes B-Roll, packages, and interviews. The B-roll contains footage of the ship docking, a military band performing to welcome home the troops and family members gathered awaiting disembarking service members. The packages are about activities during deployment. The interviews are with Chief Petty Officer James Slaughter, equal opportunity advisor for USS Bataan and Cindy Ross, wife of Capt. Eric Ross, commanding officer of the USS Bataan. Part 1 of 2. ***Note: Mrs. Ross' interview is incomplete, this is all that was received and recorded.***
