Package of Marines and Sailors with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, execute a helicopter assault on Ie Shima Island, off the coast of Okinawa, Japan. As the MEU’s Helo Company, this raid type training prepares the unit for real-time objectives it may face in its role. The unit is offloaded from CH-46E Sea Knight and CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters, provided by the MEU’s Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265, to eliminate hostile forces (Marine role-players) on the ground.
