Repeated rounds of heavy rain (300 to 600 percent of normal) coupled with record plains snowpack pushed the Missouri River Reservoirs to very high levels nearly filling the reservoirs, reducing flexibility built into the Corps' operations for 2011 requiring aggressive and historic releases out of the main stem reservoirs. High releases will continue through at least mid-August to evacuate stored floodwater and get the reservoirs to a manageable level. USACE has 99 employees dedicated strictly to flood fight operations. Also available in high definition.
