A C-130 from the 153rd Airlift Wing, and personnel from the 187th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, both of the Wyoming Air National Guard participate in a National Disaster Medical System exercise held in Boise, Idaho. The exercise combines county, state and federal emergency response agencies in times of major natural and man made disaster. The exercise simulated an earthquake in Seattle, Washington. Patients, simulated by local student volunteers, were loaded onto the C-130 and unloaded by E.M.T.s and other medical response individuals from the Boise area and surrounding counties to be treated at a triage center at Gowen Field in Boise. This gave the Wyoming aircrew an opportunity to work with civilian agencies and to train to develop their battlefield evacuation skills.
