B-roll of Soldiers and Airmen from the Virginia National Guard's 34th Civil Support Team preparing to search for possible chemical or biological threats May 17 on board a ship in the James River near Fort Eustis during the Hampton Roads Full Scale Exercise. The HRFSE is being held May 17 through 19 to provide the Commonwealth of Virginia the opportunity to strengthen its anti-terrorism capabilities as well as test local, state and federal response efforts in maritime, hostage and mass casualty scenarios. Based at Fort Pickett, the mission of the 34th CST is to support civil authorities at a domestic chemical biological radiological nuclear high yield explosive emergency incident site with identification and assessment of hazards, advice to civil authorities, and facilitating the arrival of follow-on military forces during emergencies and incidents of WMD terrorism.
