Recent Video Camp Guernsey Hosts Wildland Fire Training
The Rocky Mountain Engine Academy trains and tests Wildland firefighters from Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas. The 2012 training includes firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. the academy plans are to continue training at the Camp Guernsey Joint training Center in 2013. Modular Airborne Firefighting System Training

Veterans Welcome Home Day
The Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Day is an annual event on March 30 to honor veterans, particularly those who did not receive a positive homecoming from combat. This year focused on Korean War veterans, but was open to all veterans from all conflicts. Attending are Gov. Matt Mead, Wyoming Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Recent AudioWyoming Guard ready to help Tunisians plan for natural disasters The African nation of Tunisia and the Wyoming National Guard are furthering their relationship a year after a Tunisian revolution kicked off the Arab Spring. The two countries were paired together in 2004, through the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program. It was an endeavor to match states with nations of compatible interests, economies and other factors. Initial relationships were between military leaders and grew to incorporate civilian endeavors.

Last Wyoming National Guard unit to return home in 2011 Seventeen members of the 30th Airlift Squadron, 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard, return Dec. 28, 2011, to the Wyoming Air National Guard Base, Cheyenne, Wyo. The unit's deployment was shortened from three months to just over 30 days due to a draw down in forces for Operations Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The Airmen were due back on Christmas, but a mechanical problem with the plane forced an extended stay in Germany. The 30th Airlift Squadron is an active associate squadron, comprised of all active duty Air Force operationally assigned to the Wyoming Air National Guard.
