A small compound amidst tent cities here is serving as the gateway in and out of Haiti for troops and equipment assigned to the Louisiana National Guard-led humanitarian exercise known as Task Force Bon Voizen. The walled compound – a former Chinese-owned hat factory – has been host to more than 1,500 transient service members since April 1.
