“Bullets don’t last forever,” said Sgt. 1st Class Stephen Martin. “I have buddies who were actually captured by insurgents during deployment, and they said that, even with a basic knowledge of Combatives Level 1, they could have been able to free themselves.”

 DSTB changes command, re-designates as HHBN
Soldiers of Division Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, gathered as their battalion commander, Lt. Col. Matthew Tedesco, and senior enlisted leader, Command Sgt. Major Keith Moore, cased the battalion’s colors one final time during a deactivation ceremony at Fort Carson, Colo., Jan. 23.

 ‘Attack’ deploys to Afghanistan, departs Fort Carson for first time
First Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in January 2012.
Approximately 400 Soldiers deployed to support aviation operations in southern Afghanistan, marking the aviation unit’s first deployment from Fort Carson, since it relocated to the Mountain Post from Camp Eagle, Korea, three years ago.
