2nd Fleet disestablishes, merges with Fleet Forces Command
After 65 years of faithful service to the U.S. Navy, the three-star flag of Commander, U.S. Second Fleet was hauled down for the final time during a disestablishment ceremony, Sept. 30.


Destroyer Squadron 26 departs for Joint Warrior 11-2
Commander, Destroyer Squadron 26, embarked aboard guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke, departed Naval Weapons Station Yorktown, Va., Sept. 16 to participate in the multinational exercise Joint Warrior 11-2 off the coast of Scotland.
