Hometown to HeroesArizona Guard provides veteran insight to Phoenix FD
More than 300 members of the Phoenix Fire Department attended ‘Hometown to Heroes’ culture training, hosted by the Arizona National Guard’s Total Force Team here, Jan. 11 and 12. The event served to raise awareness about servicemembers and veterans, emphasizing how to handle their unique situations as well as care for them when they are having difficulty coping with what they have experienced.


Arizona recruiter receives national recognition
Staff Sgt. Craig Wester, a team leader within Recruiting and Retention Battalion with the Arizona National Guard, was selected as the Army National Guard’s Top Recruiting and Retention Noncommissioned Officer for 2011, a selection process that screened more than 3,000 recruiting and retention NCOs nationwide.


Watchful eyeStand down for motorcycle safety
In 2010, 2,735 accidents involving motorcycles occurred in Arizona, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Of those accidents, 83 were fatal.
