Spartans Clear the Path of IEDsSpartans Clear the Path of IEDs
The soldiers of the 572nd Mobility Augmentation Company (SPARTANS), 8th Engineer Battalion, are responsible for one thing: making the roads safe; safe for Afghan civilians and coalition forces operating in the area. While most Soldiers who patrol the roads are trying to avoid improvised explosive devices (IEDs), these Soldiers do all they can to get to them first.


Trojan Horse Battalion dons the Rugged Seahorse Patch
If there’s anything that makes a Soldier self-conscious, it’s a slick sleeve on their Army combat uniform. A slick sleeve implies that there is something missing: a combat patch. The patch’s formal name is shoulder sleeve insignia, former wartime service, and it is the mark of credibility and experience. It’s the mark of a combat veteran.
