Dental examinationKeeping the Force Ready in American Samoa
The remote location of soldiers of the 100th Infantry Battalion in American Samoa have always presented a readiness challenge to the Army. While there have usually been plenty of volunteers to serve in the Army Reserve there, keeping them medically ready for deployment is a challenge. Yearly dental exams are required by the Army, and there is already a shortage of qualified dentists on the island.

Crowd at Hospital Escuela807th Medical Maintenance helps Honduran hospital
The scene at Hospital Escuela is crowded. People stuff themselves into the lobbies and hallways of the hospital, waiting to see medical professionals for problems from earaches to gunshot wounds. The emergency room is packed with patients waiting to be seen, family members, and even a disoriented patient holding his own IV bag. Hospital employees scurry about the crowds, quickly doing what they can to process everyone through. It is hard to see the order through the chaos. This is where the 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support) biomedical repair team has decided to help make a difference.

Bravo Company, 452nd Combat Support Hospital had a common dilemma when planning their annual training for 2011. The company had been tasked for numerous overseas training missions, but had to make training plans for the remaining soldiers not traveling overseas.
