Pilot surpasses 3,000 hours in A-10 Thunderbolt
The list of single-seat fighter pilots who have flown 3,000 hours in one particular aircraft is short. On Nov. 21, a new name was added to that list when Lt. Col. David Dressel, flew his 3,000th hour in an A-10 Thunderbolt II while flying a close air support mission over Afghanistan.

Air Force mentors help build ANA medical capability
With the help of U.S. Forces, the Afghan national army opened a new hospital at Camp Hero in Kandahar province, nearly one year ago. A small group of Airmen have helped transform a once empty building into a fully functional hospital staffed by ANA personnel and capable of caring for fellow ANA soldiers, Afghan national police members, and their families.

When the Soviet Union pulled out of Afghanistan, they left thousands of mines and other explosive remnants of the war behind. At Bagram Air Field, with constant civil engineering projects to expand the flightline and other facilities, it’s a daily occurrence to find small explosives in the soft sand.
