Every time someone emails a policy letter, instant messages their family or takes time out to watch a movie on their desktop, the airmen of the 455th Expeditionary Communication Squadron Network Control Center at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, are comforted by the indicators of yet another successful work day.

In the early hours of the day, the aircraft parking ramp at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, was alive with activity. Checklists were run, hatches checked, bombs loaded and missions briefed, as the crew chiefs, support units, and flyers of F-15E Strike Eagle No. 89-0487 achieved a milestone 10,000 flying hours Jan. 13.

However, the Pat Tillman Memorial United Services Organization at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, offers a service through its United Through Reading program to help close the gap and allow deployed service members to read to their families from abroad.
