Engineer’s participated in Iraqi Kids Day First Lt. Susan Sponable, Master Sgt. Erika Lozano, and Spc. Juan Siller, with the 36th Engineer Brigade took part in “Iraqi Kids Day” at Joint Base Balad sponsored by the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing. The purpose of the event was put on as a way to create an avenue for local outreach and to improve community relations that allowed the children of the local community the opportunity to interact with U.S. forces in a safe and entertaining environment. The day’s activities included an outdoor kiddie Pool, a Cards Art Station, Video Games, a Magician, a Traveling Juggler, a girls dress up corner, sidewalk art activities, soccer, a football throw, movies, and a bean bag toss followed by lunch. 11.6.10 Story by 1st Lt. Rugged Brigade remember tragic shooting at Fort Hood at Joint Base Balad, Iraq Over 500 service members and civilian contractors took part in the Remembrance 5K memorial run. The event kicked off early in the morning at Holt Stadium, organized by the 36th Engineer Brigade in honor of the casualties of the November 5, 2009 Fort Hood shooting. 36th Engineer Brigade hosts Commander’s Conference On Aug. 28, at Joint Base Balad, Col. Kent D. Savre hosted a Commander’s Conference for all Joint Task Force Rugged commanders, first sergeants, and command sergeants major. The conference included all the remaining echelons above brigade engineer units in Iraq.
