14-year-old girl and father are reunited with family and friends
Just a week ago, 14-year-old Lydie Augustin was suffering from two severe, untreated lacerations caused by bricks that fell on her leg that were shook loose from a building during the Jan. 12, earthquake. Today she returned to Grand Saliene in better health and high spirits.

Marines Erect Interim Care Facility, Participate in Food Push Haiti Relief Efforts
Marines from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit have increased their role to support current earthquake relief efforts in Haiti after putting approximately 500 of their troops ashore using Marine aircraft and Navy landing craft over the past two days.

A Landing Craft Utility boat filled with Marines quickly approaches the shore of La Gonave. Anticipation hangs heavy in air almost as heavy as the humidity. The LCU runs aground and the loading ramp quickly lowers - its "go time," but this isn't the amphibious landing of yesteryear with Marines like Smedley Butler storming a beach, like they last did in Haiti in 1915.
