CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - Sgt. Talisha J. Moore says hello to her family in Jonesville, N.C., and cheers on the Starmount High Rams for their new school year. Moore, a Soldier deployed here with the 113th Sustainment Brigade, is a supply and administrative Soldier on her second deployment.
A band-of-brothers bond grows even stronger in a still relatively young sustainment brigade at this yearâs annual training, which began in late May, here.
For this yearâs annual training, the 113th Sustainment Brigade joined thousands of Soldiers, sailors and airmen at Global Lightning, a broad-ranging sustainment exercise that centers here.
We expect members of the military to travel to foreign lands to protect us. We often hear stories about long hours, going above and beyond the normal call of duty.
However, what do military members do when they arenât deployed to austere locations all over the world? Sometimes they walk around in clothes just like ours; sometimes they still protect us, often in the most unlikely set of circumstances.
