Newly shipped recruits with Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, are formerly received and processed on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., May 14, 2024.
Following their first steps onto the yellow footprints and through the silver hatches, all recruits fill out paperwork, make one phone call home, receive a standard issue of clothing and hygiene supplies, and are given a fresh haircut.

Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct night operations over the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., April 29, 2024.
