Lt. Col. Todd Brown, the Nuristan PRT commander, and Lt. Col. David Bushey, the commander of Task Force Wolfpack, discussed ongoing road projects in the Dow Ab and Mandol districts and the regional economic benefits likely to accrue from the road development initiatives during a string of meetings with key leaders from more than 10 district villages.
The commanders emphasized the importance of establishing a district development council and generating a district development plan in order to prioritize reconstruction efforts and ensure local plans with Afghan government goals. They also stressed the importance of close government cooperation among local elders, local government and Afghan National Security Forces in establishing and maintaining security and the rule of law.
