BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Afghan and coalition forces killed an insurgent, detained three and cleared four improvised explosive devices during operations in eastern Afghanistan throughout the past 24 hours, Oct. 31.
Khowst Province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces found and safely cleared two IEDs in Sabari District.
Afghan Uniformed Police and coalition forces detained two insurgents during an engagement in Khowst District. The detained suspects were transferred to a base for questioning.
Paktya Province
Afghan National Army soldiers and coalition forces killed an insurgent and wounded one during an engagement in Zurmat District. The wounded insurgent received medical care and was transferred to a base for questioning.
Wardak Province
Afghan National Security Forces and coalition forces found and safely cleared two IEDs, one in Sayyidabad District and one in Jaghatu District.
Operations in RC-East are still ongoing.
