ARLINGTON, Va. - The Army Ten-Miler is now in its 28th year. Started in 1985, the Army Ten-Miler has become the third largest road race in the world, attracting 30,000 runners, half of them currently serving in the US armed forces, and supported by 1,200 military personnel.
The Army Ten-Miler Fitness Expo is held in conjunction with the event with participant registration. At registration entrance, Army Reserve Careers Division manned a recruiting and retention booth, being available during all hours of the expo and available to all of the 15,000 participating service members. Lt. Col. Stephen Kleck, commander of ARCD 3rd Battalion, personally handed out 1,200 American flags to attendees.
