    Marine Corps Air Station Miramar

    MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif. – Lt. Col. Stephen M. Griffiths, commanding officer of Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, relinquished command to Lt. Col. Daniel J. Levasseur during a change of command ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Aug. 3.

    Griffiths assumed command of H&HS June 2010 and is moving to Expeditionary Strike Group 3, San Diego.

    “I’m very happy to relinquish command to [Levasseur],” said Griffiths. “I know all our Marines and sailors are going to be in great hands.”

    Levasseur, the incoming commanding officer was previously assigned to the Joint Unmanned Aircraft Systems Digital Information Exchange Joint Test where he served as coordinator, Joint Warfighter Advisory Group at Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas.

    “For the Marines of H&HS I am humble to be standing here as your new commander,” said Levasseur. “I am privileged and honored to lead such a fine group of individuals.”

    Levasseur thanked Griffiths for setting him up for success and looks forward to continuing a great thing.

    “I don’t make a lot of promises but I will promise you one thing,” said Levasseur. “I will give you nothing but the best I have every single day, and I expect only one thing in return, your absolute best as well.”
