KUNDUZ, Afghanistan - Staff Sgt. Dustin Hoobler and Spc. Joshua Bourne, both assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, participated in an aerial re-enlistment ceremony above Forward Operating Base Kunduz, Kunduz, Afghanistan, June 16, 2012.
Hoobler, a native of Canton, Ohio, is a member of the intelligence section of Hammer Company. Bourne, a native of Flint, Mich., is a health care specialist. Both soldiers re-enlisted for six years.
βIt was a very fun experience, a once in a lifetime opportunity,β said Bourne. βI hope my next re-enlistment is just as much fun.β
The unique opportunity was made possible by coordination from 1st Sgt. Kevin Hagelgans, senior non-commissioned officer of the company, and the aviation unit located on FOB Kunduz, Task Force Pirate.
The re-enlistment was conducted by Capt. John Keelean, HHC company commander.
