FORT BELVOIR, Va. - An Army Reserve colonel assigned to the Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force has been nominated for promotion to brigadier general, Defense Department officials announced May 10.
Col. Michael Tuomey is currently commander of the DLA’s Army Reserve Element. Upon confirmation of his promotion, he will be assigned as deputy commander for mobilization at Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
Tuomey’s most recent previous assignment was as commander of 1398th Deployment Support Brigade, recently deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to that, he served as a faculty instructor at the U.S. Army War College. He also served as adjunct faculty at the National Defense University. Previous commands include: 334th Transportation Battalion, Fort Sheridan, Ill.; Battery A, 1st Battalion, 15th Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division, in South Korea; and Columbia Recruiting Company, Baltimore Recruiting Battalion. His staff assignments include Headquarters, U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Headquarters, 85th Division (Exercise).
