CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan – The Helmand Governor’s Media Centre reports that on Sunday 20th May, insurgents opened fire on school children attending the Saminar School in the Gereshk district of the province.
Two school children were wounded in the attack. The injured school children were rushed to local hospitals where they are receiving treatment.
Three attackers, on motorcycles, drove to the school to carry out this attack and subsequently escaped.
Security operations to find the attackers are ongoing at this time.
