FORT STEWART, Ga. – Engineers with Company A, 4-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, marched down streets laden with American flags, May 19, in support of a parade during the 4th Annual Military Appreciation Day celebrated in Walthourville, Ga.
The soldiers participated in the 5.5-mile trek alongside other key members of the Walthourville community, including city leaders, children from the area’s YMCA and students from the Georgia National Guards’ ChalleNGe Academy.
“We definitely appreciate coming out and supporting the community in any way we can,” said 1st Lt. Corey J. Gathers, the light equipment platoon leader in Company A, 4-3 BSTB. “It’s nice to see the community giving back to us.”
