Mobility Support Advisory Squadron supports African air mobility capacity

ACCRA, Ghana — African Partnership Flight is a multi-national event in Africa. APF brings airmen from five African nations together with air advisers from the 621st Contingency Response Wing. Air Force Staff Sgt. James Stewart introduces us to two air advisers who share the impact their expertise has with their African counterparts' air forces.

Senior Master Sgt. Robert Johnson: "I'm Senior Master Sgt. Robert Johnson and currently I'm in the country Ghana in the city of Accra. When you provide and share expertise amongst nations it's going to help make a partner nation more self sufficient. That's on of the overall all goals so they won't have to necessarily need to pick up the phone and call the United States military to say 'Hey can you help us in this region; can you help us deliver cargo here; can you help us deliver people here; because they'll have that capacity through our partnerships."

Capt. Kaylee Weeks: "There are five different countries that are part of this event which has been great; the enthusiasm has just been fantastic. Today was the first day of our inaugural African Partnership Flight event. I am an air adviser for a group of 22 people who are learning how to be a loadmaster essentially and also cargo prep or prepare pallets for shipment to improve their aircraft mobility systems here in Africa."

Senior Master Sgt. Robert Johnson: "It's a unique opportunity to showcase how seven different specialties can come out to this country and contribute to building partnership capacity."
