HENRIETTA, N.Y. - Soldiers assigned to the Rochester-based Company F 1st Battalion 169th General Support Aviation Battalion will learn about the benefits and support available to their families while they are deployed overseas durring a Yellow Ribbon event on Sunday at the RIT Inn and Conference Center here.
Members of the media are welcome to attend the pre-deployment briefing to learn more about how the New York Army National Guard helps soldiers and their families.
WHO: One hundred soldiers and families of Company F, 1st Battalion 169th General Support Aviation Battalion, the air ambulance company the flies UH-60 medical evacuation helicopters at Rochester International Airport and the 138th Public Affairs Detachment from Latham.
WHAT: A Pre-deployment briefing on family services, military benefits and information on how to apply for jobs from the experts of the New York Army National Guard's Yellow Ribbon and Family Readiness programs. A "provider fair" will be held featuring agencies that provide services to soldiers, families and veterans. Retired Command Sgt. Major Lance Willsey, coordinator for the New York National Guard "Job Zone Program," which helps soldiers link up with potential employers, will also be on hand to speak.
