FORT STEWART, Ga. – The unit ministry team for the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, hosted an inaugural Bible study session, March 7, at the “Vanguard” dining facility on Fort Stewart, Ga.

Staff Sgt. Andre L. Gambrell, 4th IBCT chaplain assistant, said he and the chaplain started the event because soldiers within the brigade expressed a desire to increase their spiritual resiliency. He said Bible study sessions will be held at noon every Wednesday in the “Out Front” room of the 4th IBCT dining facility.

“We find that the Army now recognizes that … spiritual resiliency is very important to soldiers,” Gambrell said. “It helps to build their inner-core … and [helps them to be better] able to deal with every mission that we do.”

Pfc. Sarah J. Emore, a combat medic with Company C, 703rd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th IBCT, said attending Bible study sessions over her lunch break will be convenient.

“I’ve been looking around for something to kind of supplement just going to church on Sundays,” Emore said. “It’s … nice to see other Soldiers who are interested in the same thing.”

Gambrell said that while the sessions will be held in the 4th IBCT compound, soldiers from any unit on the installation are welcome to attend, including spouses and DA civilians.
