EL PASO, Texas — Soldiers and spouses of the 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division were recognized during a luncheon, Feb. 27, in El Paso, Texas hosted by the Sierra Providence East Medical Center.

“This quarterly luncheon is held to honor battalion volunteers; either those that volunteer with the batteries or those that volunteer with the battalion itself,” said Deborah L. Moretti, 4-27 FA battalion Family Readiness Group adviser and wife of 4-27 FA commander, Lt. Col. Christopher Moretti.

The luncheon served to not only honor the volunteers of 4-27 FA, but also provided an opportunity to fortify the already strong relationship of Sierra Providence East Medical Center and 4-27 FA.
The Sierra Providence East Medical Center adopted 4-27 FA approximately two years ago as part of the Bradley Strong Guardian Program in an effort to support and strengthen their friendship with El Paso’s military families.

“The Bradley Strong Guardian Program is the Association of the United States Army’s opportunity to work with corporate El Paso and to partner with the brigades and battalions on Fort Bliss in order to offer a smooth integration into the El Paso community,” said Rick Glancey, West Texas State President of the General of the Army Omar N. Bradley chapter of the AUSA.

“It allows corporations to partner up for dining outs and to do these volunteer programs,” Glancey said.

Glancey also said that it also allows the unit guardian to assist with issues in the community as a form of continuous outreach.
