SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - Airman 1st Class Richard Beach, a cyber systems operator in Information Operations in Norwich is the VTANG’s Airman of the Year.
His supervisor describes him as a tech whiz. Beach has made a program that supports and updates more than 70 work stations and greatly helped with creating elements for cyber training. His work ethic is incredible, he prepared old server hardware and computers for utilization on his own initiative, he is the first to complete weekly tasks, and is a mentor to new airmen.
Tech. Sgt. Christina Walsh from Operations Group was chosen as VTANG’s NCO of the year. Her dedication and support during operations Jaded Moose III and Maple Leaf made it possible for VTANG pilots and international pilots to be combat ready. Her hard work with coordinating flight plans and air space resulted in 184 missions. Walsh also headed up personnel training for the monthly Ready Aircrew Program which is pivotal for VTANG to be mission ready. Further, Walsh personally took on responsibility to create a program mentoring enlisted for leadership positions.
Master Sgt. Jill Bolton is the knowledge operations management specialist at Operations Group and has been pivotal in ensuring deployments and training for 158th airmen. Her meticulous attention to detail ensured maximized training for airmen in the OG with no waste of resources. She stays on base to work after hours, works remotely from home, and comes in on days she normally has off if that’s what it takes to get the job done.
