    ANP finds and reduces 100 kg of ammonium nitrate in Zabul

    ZABUL PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police found and reduced 100 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in Tawiz Kheyl village, Arghandab district, Feb. 9.

    ANP was conducting a patrol to Tawiz Kheyl when a local villager notified them a nearby compound was storing improvised explosive device material.

    ANP members, along with the Arghandab district Chief of Police, entered the compound and discovered the ammonium nitrate, other material associated with IED production and uncirculated insurgent death threat letters.

    The ANP moved the material to a safe disposal area outside the village and disposed of it by a controlled detonation.
