SOUTHWEST ASIA - Senior Airman Dennis Bayne with the 175th Security Forces Squadron, Maryland Air National Guard recently deployed as a gunner with a security element in Southwest Asia.
Bayne, a native of Baltimore, along with other Air National Guard security forces squadron members deployed as a group to join a team made up of security forces squadron members from the 49th SFS out of Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. The personnel form an expeditionary security element assigned to provide security for Airmen performing missions off of U.S. military installations.
“I’m really enjoying this deployment,” said Bayne. “Having the chance to travel and see the conditions has given me a much different outlook on the world.”
The team has been working together for a little over four months.
This is Bayne’s first deployment and he has been in the Air Force for a little over three years.
