    Defense Logistics Agency

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- The director of Defense Logistics Agency Information Operations has been named the next vice director of DLA.

Ted Case, who has served in his current position since January 2010, was named to replace Mae DeVincentis, who will retire in March, in an e-mail from DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek to the agency’s senior leaders, Jan. 31.

“I’m delighted to announce that Ted Case will assume the role of DLA vice director when Mae retires in early March,” Harnitchek wrote. “Ted has served superbly as the director, DLA Information Operations, for the last year and a half, and he is well prepared to take on this challenging assignment.”

Case will be an outstanding vice director, and he will help lead DLA in continuing to provide exceptional logistics support to its customers around the globe, Harnitchek continued.

Case said he looks forward to serving in the new position, and that he has seen the value the agency has gotten from its vice directors in his 20 years with the DLA.

"I am both honored and humbled to serve Vice Adm. Harnitchek, the Defense Logistics Agency, our outstanding workforce and our customers from this position,” he said. “Over the years I have seen how a strong vice director can bring a unique perspective, one that includes DLA history and culture, to the leadership team and become a force-level multiplier for the director."

Case said he plans to help the director, his staff and the agency’s primary-level field activities achieve their goals and aspirations in the difficult times ahead.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time serving as the director of information operations and its talented and dedicated staff,” he said. “I look forward to working closely with Vice Adm. Harnitchek, fellow senior leaders and the staff as we take on the challenges of world-class logistics support of our customers in the months ahead."

Prior to his current position, Case served as the deputy director and chief technical officer of DLA Information Operations. During his career with DLA, which began in 1992, Case has held a variety of leadership positions involving information operations.

Case holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and economics from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., and earned a master’s degree in computer systems management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. He retired from the Navy in 2001.
