KABUL, Afghanistan - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox, commander of the Transatlantic Division, and his guest from USACE Headquarters in Washington D.C., Command Sgt. Maj. Micheal L. Buxbaum spoke to military service members and civilian USACE employees during a town hall meeting at the Qalaa House compound in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Dec. 15. Qalaa House serves as the headquarters for the Corps of Engineers in northern Afghanistan.

“We’re glad you took the time out to serve your country in this capacity here in Afghanistan,” said Buxbaum.
The Transatlantic Division supports the Corps of Engineers mission in the U.S. Central Command’s area of operations, which consists of 20 countries from Egypt through the Persian Gulf to Central Asia.
U.S. Army Col. Christopher W. Martin is the Commander for the Afghanistan Engineer District North.
