GALVESTON, Texas – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, recently awarded the following four contracts:
• King Fisher Marine Service LP, a large business, was awarded a contract in the estimated amount of $6,277,550 for pipeline dredging of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Corpus Christi Bay to Port Isabel.
• Lecon Inc., was awarded a contract in the amount of $7,558,765 for ecosystem restoration relating to the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, Texas, Channel Improvement Project in Nueces and San Patricio counties, Texas. Work will consist of rock revetment to prevent erosion along the coastline.
• RLB Contracting Inc., a women-owned HubZone small business, was awarded a contract in the estimated amount of $5,277,600 for pipeline dredging in the GIWW, Freeport Harbor to Brazos River Crossing in Brazoria, Texas.
• SOL Engineering LLC, an 8(a) small business, was awarded a contract in the amount of $372,903.75 to provide sampling, chemical analysis and a bio assessment of dredged material at the Galveston Harbor and Channel and the Houston Ship Channel.
The small business categories that the USACE Galveston District recognizes are determined by federal guidelines and include: small business; Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SBA’s 8(a) program); Women-Owned Small Businesses; Hubzone Small Businesses; Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Historically Black College Universities and Minority Institutions.
