    FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died July 12 from a serious illness in Scott & White Hospital, Temple, Texas.

    Sgt. 1st Class Troy D. Bargo, 46, whose home of record is listed as Mary Alice, Ky., entered active-duty service in July 1996 as a multiple launch rocket system automated tactical data systems specialist. He was assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion.

    Bargo deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from April 2003 to August 2003 and on February 2004 to February 2005.

    Bargo’s awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, eight Army Achievement Medals, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award , four Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with combat service star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal , two Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, and three Overseas Service Ribbons, Army Recruitment Badge-Gold with three Sapphire Achievement Stars, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.
