The district awarded Gulf South Research Corporation a contract in the amount of $40,872.04 for sampling and chemical analysis at Turnstake Island to Live Oak Point at the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas.
“The Corps conducts chemical analysis sampling routinely on maintenance dredging projects throughout the Galveston District in order to ensure the sediment dredged is not contaminated,” said Carolyn Murphy, USACE Galveston Environmental Section chief. “Through sampling analysis, we are able to review data to make certain we remain in compliance with multiple federal regulations, including the Clean Water Act.”
