Taliban facilitator captured outside Ghazni city last night

KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan and coalition force captured a Taliban facilitator of weapons and improvised explosive device materials, during an overnight operation in Ghazni province Tuesday.

He also acquired and negotiated the sale of multiple heavy weapons systems to insurgent networks in the area.

Based on intelligence tips, the security force targeted a compound outside Ghazni city to search for the targeted individual. The Afghan and coalition force used a loudspeaker to call for all occupants to exit the compound peacefully before clearing and securing the area.

The security force identified the facilitator during initial questioning at the scene and detained him. The assault force also discovered grenade fuses at the scene.

No shots were fired and the security force protected the women and children during this operation.
