KABUL, Afghanistan – An Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Force patrol arrested a wanted insurgent during a dismounted patrol in Maidan Shahr district, Wardak province, Wednesday, Oct. 27.
The target was wanted for leading a cell of approximately 50 foreign fighters, serving as a suicide-attack facilitator and leading small-arms and improvised explosive device attacks against ANSF and ISAF.
The man was arrested without incident on an Afghan government warrant. He was taken in to custody by Afghan security forces for questioning.
