KABUL, Afghanistan - An insurgent-placed improvised explosive device killed one Afghan civilian when the vehicle he was traveling in struck the device in Khost province, Monday.
According to initial reports, the victim was a construction contractor working on a project at an International Security Assistance Force combat outpost.
"The Taliban continue to indiscriminately kill innocent Afghan civilians," said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, ISAF Joint Command Combined Joint Operations Center director. "Our thoughts and concerns are with the victim's family. We'll work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible for this attack and bring them to justice."
