    SOUTHWEST ASIA — Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and
    the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations August 12, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

    Air Operations in Afghanistan

    Moqor Regional Command –East
    Coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

    Shahidan, RC-E
    U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of presence and released precision-guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

    Tani, RC-E
    U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful

    Chahar Bagh, RC-SW
    U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots, U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots, and U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F/A-18C pilots conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. A-10 pilots conducted multiple strafing runs over enemy targets and shows of force to deter enemy activity. F-16C pilots conducted a show of force with flares over an enemy position. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

    U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of presence and released multiple precision-guided munitions over
    an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

    U.S. Navy F/A-18C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted show of force with flares which joint terminal attack controllers deemed successful.

    Qal-E-Naw, RC-W
    U.S. Air Force F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted a show of force over an enemy target to deter enemy activity, Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers called the engagements successful

    Lashkar Gah, RC-SW
    U.S. Navy F/A-18C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagement successful.

    Badghis Province, RC-W
    U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules and U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 69,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

    Helmand Province, RC-S
    U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 208,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

    Oruzgan Province, RC-S
    A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop missions in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 35,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

    Paktika Province, RC-S
    A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 70,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
