GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Polish soldiers from Task Force White Eagle visited Towhed Abad School in Sartur Babah village of Afghanistan's Ghazni province to speak with the school's headmaster, students and village elders about the May 3 rocket attack, which injured several students and a teacher.
Polish Army Lt. Col. Warda, commander of Battle Group Alpha, spoke with the Towhed headmaster and Sartur Babah elders about increasing security in the area and ways to prevent future attacks.
"Our soldiers along with the Afghan national security forces can increase the amount of patrols we conduct in this area, but we need your assistance with reporting information when there are insurgents operating in this area," said Maj. Dariusz Mileswski, Task Force White Eagle, information operations officer. "We have several phone numbers you can call and report information to us and the ANSF so they can help you secure the area."
Following the meeting with the elders, Polish soldiers handed out school bags, notebooks, storybooks, and pencils to students. They gave out the phone number for the local community safety lines and re encouraged the elders and headmaster to call in and report any suspicious activity in the area.
