CHICAGO - The U.S. Army took part in opening day activities at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, April 12, 2010. One Soldier was recognized for his service in Iraq and four United States Army Recruiting Soldiers presented the nation's colors.

Capt. Aaron Jenkins, from Lombard Ill., home on leave from his fourth tour in Iraq, was recognized along with his wife Rose and their three children, Darius 13, Marissa 12 and Alexis 10, as the "Military Hero of the Game.'

Jenkins, in the Army for 10 years and the United States Navy for three, is currently serving as the Director for the Iraqi Media Engagement Team, Forward Operating Base 'Prosperity,' Baghdad, Iraq. Upon redeployment, Jenkins will return to his United States Army Reserve unit, the 318th Public Affairs Operations Center, Forest Park, Ill., as the fulltime Public Affairs Officer.

Soldiers from the United States Army Chicago Recruiting Battalion represented the Army with precision while performing the official Color Guard duties. The USAREC Soldiers were part of the Glenview, Ill., Recruiting Company and were on hand for the pledge of allegiance, God Bless America and Star Spangled Banner.

Four days after the Cubs placed a checkmark in the "W" column (9-5), against the Milwaukee Brewers, Jenkins returned to Iraq to complete his tour of duty. Summing up his experience at Wrigley Field, all Jenkins could say was, "That was the highlight of my military career!"
