    3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command

Air Force Gen. Douglas Fraser visited the Soldiers, leadership and facilities of Joint Logistics Command Haiti in Port-au-Prince Feb. 13.

Fraser was greeted by Col. (P) Robin Akin, commander of Joint Logistics Command — Haiti, at JLC headquarters at Toussaint L'Ouverture Airport. He received a mission overview brief from the command highlighting JLC organization, missions, successes, and lessons-learned to date. In addition he met with key JLC Department of Defense partners, received a tour of the compound and briefly met with junior-enlisted servicemembers from the command.

"I want to thank you for all your hard work and all that you do. It reflects well on you and the Department of Defense," said Fraser.

"There are a lot of important lessons here," added SOUTHCOM deputy commander and Joint Task Force Haiti commander, Army Lt. Gen. P.K. Keen, who accompanied Fraser on his visit and also participated in the JLC's mission overview briefing.

After the briefings, Fraser took a brief tour of the JLC Joint Operations Center, Support Operations Fusion Cell, Defense Logistics Agency and Army Materiel Command offices where he thanked the staff and DoD partners for their teamwork and efforts.

Fraser concluded his time at the JLC by meeting with an assembled group of servicemembers from the various services which comprise the joint command. Fraser acknowledged to the troops that they were doing a mission that was different than most of them normally train for, but commended their efforts and their teamwork.

"It's because of you and your ability to overcome obstacles that it's working," said Fraser.

"It's that teamwork that is recognized throughout the Department of Defense," he added. "It's a great honor to be here and watch you do this."

Fraser then handed out challenge coins to those in the room as well as to the JLC command group.

"Logistics is tough, but you all make magic happen," concluded Fraser.
