Wolfpack heads home

CAMP TAJI, Iraq — The 419th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, "Wolfpack," is on their way home. It's been a long year and often times grueling, but all of our sections in the battalion can leave this country knowing that they have accomplished a lot.

As the Wolfpack loads their duffel bags, they are welcoming the 541st CSSB to take over the mission here in the combat zone. Mission completion doesn't just mean getting home safely, but making sure that the duties here in Iraq are carried out with equivalent efficiency once they are gone.

The Wolfpack has a lot to look forward to in the next few days. A Relief in Place/Transfer of Authority ceremony in which they officially pass the torch to the 541st, as well as an awards ceremony in which Soldiers received medals and certificates directly reflecting their job performance through this past year at war.

Though the Wolfpack is leaving behind some memories and confrontations better left in a warzone, they are also leaving behind the close knit relationships and fond memories of camaraderie that will truly be missed.

Farewell and Godspeed, Wolfpack. And good luck to our brothers in arms, the 541st CSSB. Have a great year.
