    15th Sustainment Brigade

FORT HOOD, Texas —The 15th Special Troops Battalion, 15th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) celebrated the grand opening of the 15th SB Soldier and Family readiness center with Soldiers, family members and friends at the brigade headquarters Aug. 20.

The center was designed with one simple mission in mind.

"Supporting those who support the action," Sgt. Maj. Kendra Wallace, rear detachment senior non-commissioned officer, 15th SB, said of the center's motto.

The center was created to provide a resource library for new Soldiers arriving to the brigade and family members left behind due to the upcoming deployment.

The 24 hour center offers an internet café with webcam capabilities, printers, copiers, fax machines, information brochures and a play area for the junior "Wagonmasters."

According to Charles Lyons, family readiness support assistant, 15th SB, the center does not have a sign-in sheet or a waiting list for any of the services the center offers, unlike the library or the education center.

"Different places on post are always crowded and have long waiting lists," Lyons added.

Also, the center has two conference rooms that will be available by reservation for Family Readiness Group meetings.

"This will lower stress levels and boost morale tremendously," Sgt. Raymond Bass a Baltimore, Md., native, command group staff 15th SB said about the convenient services provided for the Soldiers and the family members.

Family members took advantage of the grand opening to learn about the many different programs and services that Fort Hood and the 15th SB center have to offer.

"I will definitely tell everyone I know to come and use this great center," Sharon Bass, from Jackson, Miss., said.
