FORT HOOD, Texas - "All of us here at Fort Hood remain deeply saddened by the tragedy that took place here April 2, 2014. Our leaders continue to work with those who were affected by this tragedy and we extend our continued condolences to those who lost loved ones and to those who suffered wounds. We also send our love, prayers, care and support to all Soldiers, civilians and family members affected.
"The Army's investigation report released Jan. 23 included several recommendations. The Army, including Fort Hood, is currently in the process of evaluating and implementing those recommendations. Some recommendations work to improve information flow in units, between Army medical facilities and between leadership and their Soldiers and others deal with safety and security measures. Since the incident on April 2, Fort Hood has continued to improve these measures.
"Fort Hood officials remain committed to doing what's necessary to ensure the safety and security of all personnel on Fort Hood."
- Col. Christopher Garver, III Corps Public Affairs Officer
