The 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), is scheduled to host a deployment ceremony this Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11:30 a.m. on Fort Hood.
The Soldiers of the 13th SC(E) are leaving for a nine-month deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Their mission will be to augment the the Operational Command Post in Kuwait for the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) - the "sustainment center of gravity" for support to the U.S. Army Central and U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. They will also coordinate sustainment operations between those forward deployed and the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) Main Command Post at Fort Bragg, N.C., responsible for resourcing the Soldiers on the ground and enabling them to achieve success.
Media interested in attending the ceremony should RSVP with Sgt. 1st Class Jason Kucera, 13th SC(E) Public Affairs, at jason.d.kucera.mil@mail.mil, no later than Friday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. Media representatives should arrive at the Marvin Leath Visitors Center media parking area on Saturday by 10:30 a.m. to depart for the ceremony no later than 10:45 a.m.
